Getting Involved

Every child deserves safety, stability, and a chance to heal. Legacy Home Ministries provides trauma informed care, life skills training, and consistent mentorship to teens who have experienced abuse, neglect, or instability. Your involvement—whether as a volunteer, sponsor, donor, or ministry partner—turns that mission into real, measurable change.

How you can make a difference:

Volunteer at the group home: Serve in hours teaching skills, leading activities, offering academic help, or providing therapeutic support. Volunteers are essential to daily life and help create consistent, positive adult relationships. Learn more.

Sponsor a teen: Regular sponsorship covers direct needs—clothing, school supplies, extracurriculars—or covers a specific teen’s transition to independent living. Sponsorship builds stable, predictable support that changes outcomes. Learn more.

Donate to the home: One-time or reoccurring gifts, new or gently used item(s), whether clothes, hygiene products, home furnishings or supplies. This kind of support also ensures programs remain and are accessible. Learn more.

Contribute to the ministry: Support financially for professional services, to help with funding our staff and routine maintenance of our homes. You can also help us find other partnerships, whether churches, community groups and businesses to expand reach and deepen impact. Learn more.

Why your help matters:

  • Immediate safety: Group homes offer a secure environment. Volunteers and staff keep routines, supervision, and compassionate presence that protect teens from further harm.

  • Emotional healing: Consistent relationships help youth rebuild trust. Volunteers who mentor, tutor, or simply show up provide stability that accelerates recovery.

  • Life-readiness: Sponsorships and program funding pay for education support, job training, counseling, and housing transitions—tools teens need to become independent, productive adults.

  • Community reinforcement: When the community invests, stigma decreases and long-term supports form. That network reduces recidivism, homelessness, and future crisis.

Impact you’ll create

  • Safer living conditions, better school attendance, reduced crisis incidents.

  • Improved mental health, increased job and life skills, higher graduation rates.

  • Adults who break cycles of trauma, become self-sufficient, and positively contribute to their communities.
